The working principle of this system is a simulation of monitoring the position of an object given its position for further processing. In this case there are 2 (two) main object of the spotlight in a matter of point A which moves randomly is considered as the location of the GPS signals (Global Positioning System) received from the serial port that is emitted from a police patrol car on duty in the field and point B location had been entered and considered as the location of crime reports from the public. Based on the point B will be able to automatically find the nearest point spread on a digital map based on the radius and the route of the road.

With this system, the society reported crime can be solved right away because the officers who carry out patrols in the field can be monitored centrally and handling can be controlled centrally so that the program functions as well as the control system can be achieved and the tasks of the police as law enforcers can more optimally." xml:lang="en_US" />

Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia

Sistem Informasi Geografi (SIG) merupakan sistem informasi yang menyertakan unsur “geografi”, atau sistem yang menekankan pada unsur “informasi geografi”. Keadaan fisik permukaan bumi pada dunia nyata dipetakan melalui peta digital sehingga posisi dimana suatu obyek pada permukaan bumi beserta keterangan-keterangan dapat diketahui dan dipresentasikan secara cepat, tepat dan fleksibel.

Prinsip kerja dari sistem ini adalah simulasi pemantauan posisi objek yang diberikan posisinya untuk melakukan proses lebih lanjut. Dalam hal ini ada 2 (dua) objek utama yang menjadi sorotan dalam permasalahan yaitu point A yang bergerak secara random yang dianggap sebagai lokasi sinyal GPS (Global Positioning System) yang diterima dari serial port yang dipancarkan dari mobil patroli polisi yang sedang bertugas dilapangan dan point B lokasi yang diinputkan dan dianggap sebagai lokasi tindak kejahatan laporan dari masyarakat. Berdasarkan point B akan dapat di cari secara otomatis point A terdekat yang tersebar pada peta digital berdasarkan radius maupun rute jalan.

Dengan adanya sistem ini maka tindak kejahatan yang dilaporkan masyarakat dapat diatasi saat itu juga karena petugas yang melaksanakan patroli dilapangan dapat dipantau secara terpusat dan penanganannya dapat terkontrol secara terpusat pula sehingga fungsi program sebagai sistem kontrol dapat tercapai dan tugas polisi sebagai penegak hukum dapat lebih optimal.

Geographical Information Systems (GIS) are information systems that include elements of "geography", or a system that emphasizes the element of "geographic information". The physical condition of the earth's surface in the real world is mapped through a digital map so that the position where an object on the surface of the earth and its particulars can be known and presented in a fast, precise and flexible.
