Abstract in
Bahasa IndonesiaTuntutan masyarakat terhadap pendidikan tinggi dalam mempersiapkan mahasiswa menjadi insan yang utuh, saat ini semakin kompleks. Perguruan Tinggi tidak cukup hanya mempersiapkan kemampuan dari segi materi, atau hard skills saja, namun tuntutan terhadap perilaku personal dan interpersonal yang mengembangkan dan memaksimalkan kinerja, soft skills, juga harus dipersiapkan. Dari segi hard skills, mata kuliah Riset Operasional merupakan mata kuliah dengan tujuan memodelkan persoalan optimasi dan menyelesaikan model dengan rumus matematika. Karena sifatnya yang abstrak menyebabkan mata kuliah ini dianggap sulit oleh mahasiswa. Selain itu, mata kuliah ini juga belum dapat menampakkan peran dalam meningkatkan soft skills mahasiswa. Dalam usaha untuk mengatasi kedua hal tersebut, maka dalam penelitian ini, akan digunakan pendekatan dengan menggunakan tipe kepribadian. Pendekatan ini dipilih karena melalui pemahaman tipe kepribadian, maka setiap mahasiswa akan didekati secara lebih pribadi. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang bersifat eksploratif, maka penelitian ini menghasilkan profil proses berpikir dan atribut soft skills mahasiswa dalam mata kuliah Riset Operasional berdasar penggolongan tipe kepribadian yang berbeda pada setiap tipenya. Setelah diketahui profil proses berpikir dan atribut soft skills mahasiswa, maka pada penelitian selanjutnya akan dibuat model pembelajaran yang disesuaikan dengan profil proses berpikir dan atribut soft skills tersebut.
Abstract
Community demands for higher education in preparing students to be a whole human being, today's increasingly complex. University is not enough to prepare the capability in terms of material, or hard skills alone, but demands on personal and interpersonal behaviors that develop and maximize performance, soft skills, should also be prepared. In terms of hard skills, Operational Research courses are courses with the aim to model and solve optimization problems with mathematical models. Because of its abstract causes subjects considered difficult by students. In addition, this course also have not been able to show a role in improving the soft skills of students. In an effort to address both of these, so in this study, we will use the approach using personality type. This approach was chosen because it is through understanding personality types, each student would be approached more personally. By using a qualitative approach that is exploratory, this research produces profiles of thinking and soft skills attributes of students in the subject of Operational Research based classification of different personality type on each type. Having in mind the profile of the thought processes and soft skills attributes of students, then further research will be made a model of learning that are tailored to the profile of the thought process and the attributes of the soft skills.
