Abstract in
Bahasa IndonesiaWAP (Wireless Application Protocol) merupakan teknologi canggih untuk peralatan-peralatan komunikasi untuk kepentingan diperjalanan (mobile devices) yang memungkinkan penggunanya untuk mengakses Internet dari peralatannya tersebut (handphone atau palm pilot). Banyak kemudahan yang ditawarkan dengan adanya teknologi ini, misalnya phone-banking, memeriksa kurs valuta asing, dan lain-lain.
Salah satu layanan sistem informasi yang dapat diterapkan dengan menggunakan teknologi WAP ini adalah Sistem Informasi Lalu Lintas mengingat saat ini sudah mulai memasuki era telecommuting, dimana seseorang tidak harus berada di kantor untuk melakukan pekerjaannya dan memungkinkan seseorang menghabiskan sebagian besar waktunya dalam perjalanan. Sistem ini menyediakan informasi keadaan Lalu Lintas khususnya di Surabaya, berupa informasi keadaan macet, perhitungan rute terpendek, dan informasi mengenai tempat-tempat penting dan nomor-nomor telepon penting di Surabaya.
Dengan adanya sistem ini diharapkan dapat membantu mereka yang membutuhkan informasi tentang keadaan Lalu Lintas, terutama mereka-mereka yang sering berada di jalan.
Abstract
WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) is an advanced technology for communication equipment for the benefit diperjalanan (mobile devices) that allows users to access the Internet from such equipment (mobile phone or palm pilot). Many convenience offered by this technology, such as phone-banking, check foreign exchange rates, and others.
One of the service information system that can be applied by using WAP technology are considering the Traffic Information System is starting to enter the era of telecommuting, where one does not have to be in office to do its work and enables a person spends most of his time traveling. This system provides information on traffic conditions, especially in Surabaya, in the form of occlusion information, calculating the shortest route, and information about important places and important phone numbers in Surabaya.
With a system is expected to help those who need information about the state of Traffic, especially those who often are on the road.
